Saturday morning I had an appointment in Pioneer Square, less than a block from the Elliot Bay Book Company. Ever lured into bookstores, I walked down to look for a couple specific books and ended up spending more than an hour and a half. Wandering the isles of a good bookstore is one of the most pleasurable activities of which I can think. Filled with possibility. So much to learn. So many stories. It allows moments away from myself. Caught up in the knowledge held by so many, fictional characters leading fictional lives, and real people living extraordinary lives.
And, of course, I rarely leave a bookstore empty handed. Saturday:
Run by Ann Patchette.
The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson.
The Transition Handbook by Rob Hopkins.
