After a
3:40a Sunday morning, waking up this Monday morning seemed nearly
impossible. Though now that I am out of bed, been on a chilly walk with Miss Else, and am nearly ready to jump (well, not so much jump...) onto
my bicycle and head into work I am feeling much more awake. And feeling
mildly capable of making it through the day without nodding off while
staring at my computer screen.
Yesterday was our third Sunday outside for my Basic Climbing Class. And it was so fun. Despite the early alarm. We hiked up through the snow near Stevens Pass. Practiced self arresting. Built snow anchors. Walked as a part of a rope team. And flew back down the mountain through powdery snow and tall trees. Being a generally chilly person, I never would have imagined myself to be one to enjoy snow. But everyone enjoys snow. Goofing around like children. And luckily, we had a bit of sunshine yesterday to keep us warm.
Some of you may remember this post. I am feeling so happy (for lack of a better word after considering for several minutes) to have the opportunity to explore the mountains a bit more.
Photos from yesterday are up here.
